About Me

I needed something.  After an incredibly bad experience teaching (more about that later), I needed something to do.  Something interesting.  Something fun.  And not something ordinary.  Yes, I needed to make a little money.  But I was fortunate enough to not need a whole lot.  So when a friend told me about being an extra, I jumped at it.  No, it doesn’t pay well and the hours can be long, but it’s been a blessing as I’ve recovered from a truly bad situation.

I am a mother of three children and the oldest two are out of the house for good.  The youngest is a sophomore at a university quite a distance away so along with my husband, I am an empty nester.  Another reason why I needed something to do.  I was a very young mom so have pretty much been raising kids my whole adult life.  I have to say, I am loving my newfound freedom.  Now I can do what I want and not have to worry about everyone else’s schedule.  And you better have a wide open schedule if you want to be a background actor.  I know I’m working tomorrow but it could be 5am or 5pm.  No idea and won’t know until tonight.

I am also a writer so the idea of a blog to log my experiences is perfect for me.  I don’t know if anyone will ever visit this site.  I hope they do because I would love to facilitate a great exchange of advice for what we are doing.  But even if they don’t, writing it will satisfy not only my love of writing, but also my desire to remember all of these interesting experiences I have been having.  In addition to being an extra, I am also the head blogger for an entertainment company called Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos.  I write blogs about their shows and supervise two other bloggers.  Click here to see their website and check out some of our blogs.

I have not yet published my novel but that is my all time dream and goal.  It is a labor of love for me and hope to soon have it polished enough that a literary agent will take a look.  So be on the lookout for I Gave You a Boy!  Hopefully coming to a bookstore near you sometime in the near future.
